【서울=뉴시스】김동현 기자 = 미국프로농구(NBA) LA 레이커스의 센터 드마커스 커즌스(29)가 전방 십자인대 파열 중상을 당했다.
미국 ESPN 등은 16일(한국시간) "커즌스가 라스베이거스에서 팀 훈련 도중 전방 십자인대가 파열되는 부상을 당했다"면서 "수술 일정을 잡는 중"이라고 전했다.
AP 통신은 "2019~2020시즌의 대부분을 결장할 것"이라고 덧붙였다.
커즌스는 최근 연이은 큰 부상에 휘청거리고 있다. 2018년 1월 뉴올리언스 펠리컨스에서 뛰던 당시 아킬레스건 파열로 약 1년 간 경기장에 나서지 못했다.
부상을 입은 상태에서 골든스테이트 워리어스로 이적해 피나는 재활 끝에 복귀했지만, 2018-2019시즌 플레이오프 도중 허벅지를 다치며 쓰러졌다.
이번 시즌을 앞두고 골든스테이트를 떠나 350만달러(약 42억원)에 LA 레이커스와 계약했지만, 장기 부상이라는 암초를 만났다.

이번 시즌 앤서니 데이비스를 영입하는 등 대권 도전에 나선 LA 레이커스는 일정 시간을 활약해줄 수 있는 커즌스의 부상으로 비상이 걸렸다.
커즌스로 데이비스의 부담을 덜어줄 수 있을 것이라 전망했지만, 그의 부상으로 당장 센터진에 자베일 맥기만 남은 상황이다. 맥기는 커즌스보다는 무게감이 떨어진다.
에이드리언 워나로프스키 ESPN 기자는 "커즌스는 팀에 도움을 줄 수 있는 선수로 평가받았지만, 갑작스러운 부상으로 LA 레이커스의 계획에 차질이 생겼다"고 짚었다.
동료도 안타까움을 감추지 못했다.카일 쿠즈마는 "그가 얼마나 농구를 사랑하는지 알기에 이는 너무나 불행한 일"이라면서 "가능한 한 그가 빨리 코트로 돌아오길 기다리겠다"고 말했다.
